BATH TIME WITH NUBY

I think it's time to come clean about bath time in our house. The truth is, there might be a little bit of "paper, scissor, rock" that goes on behind the scenes between my husband and I before bath time, but it's a win-win for everybody. Not only is bath time a bonding time for us and the kids, it's also a very important bonding time for the two of them. I can't think of any other time during the day where they're in such close quarters together and actually enjoying it! But in all seriousness, we love bath time and were thrilled to be able to test and review some of Nuby's newest bath line. All of their products are BPA free, and can be found at many major retailers or Amazon.com - thank goodness for Prime!


One of my biggest concerns during bath time is their safety. I would never want to have the kids get into a tub full of scalding water. And let me tell you, our bath faucet has a mind of it's own sometimes. What I love about the Hot Safe Bath Duck is that all I have to do is start the water with the duck in the bath. After 1 minute of the tub filling you lift the duck up to see if the temperature of the water is safe. If "HOT" is bright white, then the bath water is too hot. Luckily, we got it right the first time and their patience didn't have to be tested before jumping in. 



This bright little submarine was one of Owen's favorites. It's easy to pull propeller string was on repeat as we watched the Little Submarine Bath Toy dive and glide through the bubbles. He even tried to show Sawyer how it worked, so she was busy using those muscles. Owen even discovered that it also moved around on dry land, so thanks Nuby for keeping him entertained through bath time and beyond!





These were also another big hit that kept them busy for ever. An excellent option for developing hand eye coordination and bonding between the two of them, these Fun Bath Links are literally perfect for kids of all ages. We all know how kids sometimes don't like to share (it's never our kid though, right?) but with 15 pieces there were plenty of links to go around. This fun toy came with two suction cups that you attached to the side of the tub and link the different shapes and creatures together to make a chain. Each little sea creature doubled as bath squirter, which was an added bonus for my 
two kids!

Casual Activewear

So if you're a mom, you know what I'm talking about - shoot, even if you're not a mom you will understand. There are days where I just want to wear some comfy activewear leggings, but still want to look put together. I literally adore these leggings, the tie detail is so fun, and they just came out with two newer colors too.

This high/low thermal top from Free People is also another winner, it's perfect for those cooler Spring nights that we've been having here in Texas. And the best part is, it's on sale!


There's nothing better than a good pair of sneakers, and these Nike Kaishi's are so comfy. Anything with a gold accent is a must. I love to wear them with jeans too, they go with just about everything. Also another steal because they're on sale.


I have lots of people ask me about my stroller, and I'm a huge fan of Baby Jogger. This is our convertible stroller that we attach the second seat to for Owen when we need to. It's so easy to use, and I'm a big fan of the black on black look it has.

Easter Arts & Snacks



It's almost Easter! We had fun this week putting together a yummy snack as well as our Easter egg art project! Let me tell you, these are both great ways to keep your kids busy during the week.

Bunny Bait Snack Mix





This mix is a good blend of sweet and salty, and honestly just came from snacks I already had at home, so it's super easy to throw together! All you need is: 
1 bag Annie's Homegrown Friends Bunny Grahams (any flavor, we used snickerdoodle)
1 bag crispy M&Ms Easter colors
1 bag of yogurt raisins 
1 bag of Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps (mini)

Every"bunny" loves a yummy snack! We also enjoy filling mason jars with this snack mix and tying yarn around them for the teachers at school, or sending little bags of it home with classmates. 


Egg Stamp Art



Ok so first of all, if you don't follow busytoddler.com, then you're missing out! I've followed Susie for awhile now, and she literally might be the reason I stay sane while staying home with the kid (just kidding - my wine deserves some of the credit). But, I saw her Instagram post and had to try it out. I had some eggs that I saved from last year's hunt, and I was set. All you need is:
Plastic Easter eggs
Paint (tempura paint cleans up nicely)
Paper Plates
Paper

Spring Style Guide for Littles

The sun is out, the weather is nice, the flowers are blooming, and it feels like Spring has sprung! This is my favorite time of year because all I want to do is be outside!! I've rounded up a few of my favorite Spring staples I grabbed for my kiddos this year. The cool part about these pieces is that they  could literally be part of a mini capsule wardrobe for your kids. They're so versatile and can work with many different outfits.

Who doesn't love a cute graphic tee? Peek always has cute finds like this shirt, and these crochet denim shorts are a perfect piece that would go with anything! We love slip-on sandals, and soft head wraps like this coral sailor knot one. 

I'm convinced that everyone needs to own a leotard for their little girl. They could be worn alone or virtually go with anything - skirts, shorts, or cute overalls like these. Add some distressing to your overalls and they would be a favorite. And right now we're dying over these hightop Vans sneakers, just look at the color! Of course we had to get some sunnies for Sawyer, and these mirrored pair were perfect. 

This soft, light weight crepe dress is so cute on, especially with these espadrille sandals. This outfit I had in mind for Easter, or some other dressier event that you need to take the little ones too. Complete with the beautiful bracelets, and the itty bitty tassel bag, it literally gives me all the heart eyes. 

Every little girl needs a straw floppy hat, and this one is perfection. I love this embroidered white top, it would look great with some distressed skinny jeans as well. These linen shorts we now have in a few colors because they're so affordable, and of course so comfy. Anything with tassels right now is a win, and these baby tassel sandals just make my heart melt.

This mandarin collar shirt, skinny twill pants & moccasins would be the perfect Easter outfit, or any event you might have to bring the kids too. The shoes would look great with khaki shorts too. 

When you live in Texas like we do, tanks become a staple really early on! I love this one because it's very reasonable, but doesn't look too cheesy. This linen backpack is perfect for packing snacks to the park, or packing goggles and towel to take to the pool. These shorts and blue Vans just scream comfort, which we love.

I'm loving these distressed denim shorts, and anything with cactus & cow skulls is a winner in my book, this shirt is just cool. And of course every kid is going to need a pair of sandals for the coming months. The best part is they're so easy to put on, he can do it himself.

Of course every little boy needs athletic clothes, and this outfit is great for that. I'm loving this rock n' roll shirt, and these marled knit shorts are some of our favorites - so comfy! We love the Nike Roshe shoes, and these are on sale at Nordstrom right now! Sizes are running out fast. 

No outfit is complete without the accessories, and luckily for us Owen is a big fan of hats! He also loves to wear his sunglasses when we go anywhere, so here are the aviator options as well as the vintage Ray-Ban look alike sunglasses

Take Me Back To Nashville



Phew, it’s taken me a couple extra days but I’m finally feeling up to par after a fun filled weekend in NASHVILLE! I went with a group of girls for Elle's bachelorette party weekend, and the “Music City” was everything I had hoped it would be. As soon as we landed, literally everyone we talked to had to get their bragging in,

“Well ya know, Nashville was voted 2nd for best place to go for bachelorette parties,”

You don’t say? I guess being from Texas I’ve always gone to New Orleans and played around on Bourbon St. In my mind, behind Las Vegas, Bourbon would have been the runner up for the best place for bachelorette debauchery. Nashville, I now understand why you hold that coveted spot. While we were there we of course had to go see Blake Shelton, went out to Broadway St., took a Music City Pub Crawl, and on the last day even stopped by the Draper James store – too bad we missed Reese! The MOH and a few other bridesmaids were the brains behind the planning, and I have to say for a group of 16 women, none of which had ever been to Nashville, we had a great time!





My only regret is that I didn’t have my camera the whole time, but I was nervous that it might get a little too rowdy and something might have happened. Oh well. There are SOO many places to go eat and see, but I’ve listed a few of the places that we actually did eat at that I would highly recommend!

The Southern really great authentic southern food, and I loved the vintage tile and fans!

Pub 5 upscale “bar food” with a really cool atmosphere - it was such a cool place that I spotted Cassadee Pope! She was also on her way to the Blake Shelton concert (of course). I wanted to be a crazy fan-girl, but Elle took one for the team.

Tavern Midtown the chirizo gravy & biscuits - there are no words. I had another fan-girl moment when I spotted Carly Waddell from the Bachelor! But, again I refrained from taking a picture with her.



Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant the absolute best southern brunch food ever! Good thing we had a reservation because there was a 2 hour wait.

Urban Grub the name speaks for itself, great food! 

This past weekend was such a good trip and it was so good to be with everyone again. Do I dare say it kinda felt like we were back on 424 N. Steen Drive, all we were missing was Sports Shack & Driving Jacks. I hope it doesn’t take another one of us getting engaged or married to make a trip like this happen again! But let’s be real, we’re old now.

Yes, the blog is back and you have no idea how happy I am about it! I have been really busy reworking my blog, and working on a few other fun projects that I can't wait to share with you all.
